Robert "Bob" Wayne Scott

The family of Robert “Bob” Scott are heartbroken to announce his passing on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Sakura House Woodstock in his 78th year. Bob was a devoted, loving, caring son, husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He will be missed every day by his wife Marie (nee Morden) Scott. Bob was extremely proud of both his sons and the accomplishments they achieved in life. Survived by son Chris, daughter in law Alta and their children Ty and Cooper. Son Craig, daughter in law Christina and their children Mia and Ava. Bob was the only son of Mary (Cornish) Scott of Tillsonburg and the late Melvin Scott (d 1989). Bob is lovingly remembered by brother in laws and sister in laws, Valerie (d 2021) & Julien Eechaute Langton, David (d 2021) & Eileen Morden, Simcoe, Rick & Debbie Morden Windsor NS. Sandra & Brian Baker, Simcoe, and several nieces and nephews. Also survived by members of the Scott., Cornish, Devos and Morden families. In addition to his family, Bob mentioned so many times how lucky we were in life to have so many true friends over the years.

Bob was a member of the Ontario Provincial Police in Oakville from 1966 until 1973 and joined the Woodstock Police Service in 1973 until he retired after 30 years of service. Bob and Marie were blessed to travel with their best friends Rick and Rose, including trips in Canada, many of the states in the USA, to Europe, numerous islands, cruise ship tours, river cruise. Bob stated his bucket list was full and he had no regrets. He enjoyed fishing and hunting for many years. The fishing and hunting trips with a great group of men were highlights he looked forward to each year, and the stories that were told, and all true of course. The stories continued over the past few years as these buddies met for monthly breakfast meetings. Bob and Marie were members of the Norwich Curling Club for many years and new friendships were made which continued to today.

His biggest passion and joy was his family. He was there every step of the way, supporting Marie in their 54 years of marriage and always being there for his boys. Of course, nothing could give him more pleasure than spending time with his grandchildren, Mia, Ty, Ava, Cooper.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for a memorial service on Saturday, July 15th at 12:30 pm held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock. A celebration of Bob’s life will follow from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Woodstock Navy Club. If desired, memorial contributions to VON Sakura House would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Funeral Home.

A special thanks to Ken & Deb Cornish and Diane Meharg over the last weeks, for making life easier for Bob and his mother Mary. There are so many family, friends, neighbors to thank for being there over the last few months and of course our children Chris & Craig and their families, our source of comfort and loving support.
