Cherished by nieces and nephews too many to list.

Bob was born at a farmhouse in Alma Township, the eldest of 11 children.  The farm was far from prosperous.  Despite having only a grade 11 education, Bob had a varied and successful career. From working as a banker to a career in heavy construction equipment, Bob was promoted from manufacturing to sales to management. Bob later became a general manager of a crane rental firm. Moving into scrap metal sales and purchasing, Bob then successfully owned and operated a scrap metal brokerage business for over 25 years. Bob always enjoyed the people he met in business and many business associates became lifelong friends. Bob enjoyed business so much so that he did not want to retire and continued to have a handful of customers over the last 10 years with one lasting until shortly before his passing.

Bob and Donna travelled extensively over the years, including to Europe, the Caribbean, on a number of cruises, B.C. and more recently with their children / grandchildren to Florida, Las Vegas and on a Caribbean Cruise.

Bob’s happy place for the last number of years was at the cottage in Goderich where he enjoyed puttering, gardening, going to market, golfing and eating and drinking with family and friends.  Bob and Donna were welcoming hosts. Prior to the death of Barry, who had a cottage near Bayfield, Bob, Donna, Barry and Peggy gathered each Friday night to play cards.

Family was most important to Bob.  He was very close to his children, grandchildren, siblings and in laws and loved spending time with them on special occasions or just hanging out at the cottage.
