SHARPLES - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday November 9, 2003. Robert "Bob" Edward David Sharples of Vansittart Ave., Woodstock in his 66th year. Beloved husband of Dorothy Jean Sharples (nee Venables). Dear son of Pearl Sharples and the late David Sharples (1991). Loved brother of Marie Grierson and husband Peter of Woodstock and Glen Sharples and wife Sharryn of RR# 5, Embro. Son-in-law of Eva McLaughlin and the late Alex McLaughlin (2000) and brother-in-law of Linda Hammond and husband Ivan of Mt. Elgin and Gordon Venables and wife Margaret of B.C. Bob is also survived by his uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and by his faithful "Simba" and "Chance" at home. Predeceased by his brother Lloyd (1965). Bob had been employed at Ralston Purina for over 27 years and had been an avid fan and supporter, with a "Timmy's" in hand, of our local and professional sports teams for many years. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 539-0004, on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Eleanor Caruana officiating. Interment in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions to the Oxford County Humane Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Christ Church Anglican Huntingford would be appreciated.
