Robert Charles Miller

Robert Charles Miller (Bob) was born in London, ON, August 18, 1935, to Winnifred Marie Snider and Arthur Allen Miller, and died in Woodstock General Hospital, November 27, 2022. Beloved husband of Josie (nee Josephine Smith) since August 15, 1970, proud father of Paul (Sarah) and Anne (Steve). Predeceased by his parents and a grandson, Sam. Much loved grandpa of Ben, Ella and Olive. He was a dedicated teacher, beginning his career in Thamesford, then moving to St. Lambert, Quebec where he met Josie. They settled in Woodstock and he taught in schools within Oxford County for the rest of his career. He was a committed chorister his whole life, including singing with the Ingersoll Choral Society, the Fanshawe Singers and the Choralaires, as well as directing many school and church choirs. A lifelong organist, he served in churches in London as well as in St. Lambert and Woodstock, and filled in for many other congregations in Oxford County, always willing to play for weddings and funerals. A generous volunteer of his time and skills, he delivered Meals on Wheels, served with dedication on many church and organizational committees and was an enthusiastic workshop leader at Presbyterian Music Camp.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, December 3 at 11:00 am, with visitation starting at 10:00 am at Knox Presbyterian Church, Woodstock. Wearing of masks requested. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to Knox Church Memorial Fund or the Alzheimer Society of Oxford County.
