Robert (Bob) McLeod passed away May 19 after a 3-year battle with cancer. He re-joins the love of his life, Linda, parents Ralph & Betty, and brothers Jack & Gord. He was supported and cared for to the end by his “girls” Jennifer (Doug), Paula & Cathy (Luke). His grandchildren Elizabeth (Pierce), Alex, Abs, Kai & Levi will miss his hugs, his advice, and his playful sense of humour. He also leaves his remaining brothers Bill (MJ), Dave (Debbie) & Mike, sister-in-law Linda, and many nieces and nephews. His fur baby Ollie is already missing him. A lifelong resident of Thamesford, Bob made friends wherever he went with a ready smile, a willingness to work hard and a fierce loyalty. This was most evident when he followed his passion for hockey. He spent over 35 years as a Trainer or Equipment Manager for the Thamesford Trojans, London Nationals & Western Mustangs. When he wasn’t at his trailer in Carson’s Camp at Sauble Beach, he spent many summers working with under-17 development camps. He was the first recipient of the Dr. Tom Pashby award for the OHA’s Trainer of the Year. His ability to watch several hockey games at once remains awe-inspiring. Bob remained devoted to the Toronto Maple Leafs and always hoped this would be the year they brought the Cup home again. The family will hold private services at this time through Brock & Visser Funeral Home in Thamesford (519-285-2427). Once COVID permits, they plan to hold a big bash in his honour.
