MCFARLAND, Robert L. - At the Woodstock Hospital on Monday February 24, 2014. Robert "Bob" L. McFarland in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Patricia "Pat" J. (Nee Budge) McFarland for over 42 years. Dear father of Neil McFarland of Woodstock and Laura MacDonald (Cory) of Toronto. Loved grandfather "Boppa" of Savannah and Flora. Dear brother of Jayne Challoner (Jim) of Toronto, son-in-law of Muriel Budge of Edmonton and brother-in-law of Donna Martin (Bill) of Kamloops, Judy McIntosh (George) of Simcoe, Jim Budge (Jan) of Whistler, BC and Dave Budge (Marissa) of Toronto. Bob is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was a past employee of the City of Woodstock where he served as the Director of Community Services and previously the same position in Waterloo and Oakville. Bob was involved in many community groups, organizations and served on many Boards and Committees in Woodstock, Waterloo and Oakville. It can be said that where ever he lived, he got involved in the community. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire, Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday February 27, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the complete memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 1:30 pm. Cremation. If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Cowan Park, the Woodstock Art Gallery or Southgate Seniors Centre would be appreciated (cheques accepted).
