Robert Pearson "Bob" Hinchcliffe

HINCHCLIFFE, Robert (Bob) Pearson - Suddenly, but peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital on October 4, 2010 in his 89th year. Bob was born in Lansing, Ontario and moved to Woodstock in the early 1930's. He served with the 1st Hussars in France, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Germany and Czechoslovakia during WWII. Bob worked as a painter/paper hanger with his father before becoming employed in autobody repair. He worked at the Ontario Hospital and Ralston Puring before working with the Woodstock P.U.C. until retirement. Ole Bob's passion was antique cars and he began collecting and touring in the early 1950's. He was also a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Woodstock. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jean, and his children John (Lorene), Barb, Doug (Chris) and Dean (Anita). Also survived by his grandchildren Amber (Matt), Jared (Amberly), Ryan (Danielle), Kylie (Tim), Tyler (Lydia), Dawn, Rob (Michelle), Derek and Lindsay. Great Grandchildren Trevor, Tyler, Emma, Elise, Max and Ben also miss their grandpa. He is predeceased by his parents Mildred (nee Weakley) and John Hinchcliffe and his sister Norma. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 6, 2010 from 7 to 9pm and Thursday October 7, 2010 from 12:30 - 1:30pm at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock 519-539-0004. A memorial Service will take place at 1:30pm followed by refreshments and interment at Chesterfield Cemetery.
