FITZGERALD - Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on Friday February 2, 2007. Robert "Bob"Wallace Fitzgerald of Caressant Care and formerly of Lyndale Crescent, Woodstock in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Arta May Fitzgerald (nee Ross) (2006). Dear father of Mike and his wife Nancy of Stratford, Pam Capling of Kettle Point, Karen Evans and her husband Steve of London, Terry of Holbrook, Nancy Yeoman and her husband John of New Bern, North Carolina and John and his wife Darlene of Ingersoll. Loved grandfather of twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Lorene Ross of Huntsville and by 8 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 3 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law. Bob worked for Bell Canada for over 38 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, College Avenue Church Men's Club, Royal Canadian Legion and was a WW II Veteran. Bob was a recipient of the award for Outstanding Citizen of the year for Woodstock. He devoted many years to hockey and baseball teams in the community and is honoured on the Sports Wall of Fame at the Woodstock Community Complex. Bob was the originator of the Boy Scout Camp in Princeton and was the BoyScout District Commissioner for 12 years. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Monday February 5, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A celebration of Bob's life will take place at College Avenue Church, 22 Wilson St., Woodstock on Tuesday at 2:00pm with Rev. David Duncan officiating. Interment later in the Hillview Cemetery.
