COWING, Robert - Passed away peacefully at the Woodstock Hospital on Saturday October 8, 2016. William Robert "Bob" Cowing of Innerkip on his 89th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee Hallock) Cowing for over 61 years. Cherished father of Dennis (Betty Ann) Cowing, Darlene (Don) Chesney, Roger (Janet) Cowing, Barbara Cowing (late Brian Hall, 2014) and Angela Cowing. Dear grandfather of Lisa Granja (Mike), Jason Cowing (Katie), late Brent Chesney (2013), late Brock Chesney (2015), Dean Chesney, Gina Cowing (Darrel Benbow), Derek Cowing, Drew Hall, Dale Hall and great grandfather of Shayna Granja, Devin Granja, Kyle Cowing, Eric Cowing, Warren Benbow as well as his step grandchildren Chrissy (Al) Dunham, step great grandchildren Lacey (Derek) Jenne and Jacob Dunham and his step great-great granddaughter Cali Jenne. Bob will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Helen (Harold) Stover. Predeceased by his parents Emery and Elsie (nee Trussler) Cowing, sisters; Edith (Carmen) Denton and Ruth (Hamilton) Carter. Bob farmed the Cowing Homestead "until the last crop was in" since he was 14 years old. Bob and his wife were longtime members of Innerkip Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will be held at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004, on Thursday October 13th , 2016 at 11:00am. Interment in the Innerkip Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Innerkip Community centre where the family will greet their friends and relatives.
