Rita Catherine (Heitzner) Thompson

THOMPSON, Rita Catherine - Peacefully at Woodstock Hospital, on Sunday October 18, 2015. Rita Catherine Thompson (nee Heitzner) of Woodstock was in her 83rd year. Rita was born and raised in Udney, Ontario and worked in Orillia. She moved from Orillia to Woodstock in 1963, with her family where she worked at the Oxford Regional Centre for 25 years. Rita was a lifelong member of the Catholic Womens League and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. She had been a strong leader of the family and will be deeply missed by: sons, Bob (Sue) Thompson, Barry (Laurette) Thompson, daughters Irene (Dave Swiech) Patience-Swiech and Carol Thompson. She will be forever missed by her buddy Max and her grandchildren Logan, Kramer, Taylor, and Katie. Dear sister of Bill (Mary Anne) Heitzner. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by great granddaughter Baylie Patience, her parents Bob and Marcella Heitzner, sisters Irene Heitzner, and Helen (Mark) Lawlor and by her brother Bob (Ceceilia) Heitzner . Friends are invited to join the Family at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday October 21, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 1420 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, on Thursday October 22, 2015 at 11am with Father Richard Dales as celebrant. Interment in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery. If desired, contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Woodstock Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
