METCALFE, Richard John (Rick) - In his 68th year, on May 20, 2019, with his family by his side at Woodstock Hospital. Beloved husband of Mary (Kilbourne) and loving father of Jackie. Dear son of Dory Elliott of Woodstock and the late Jack Metcalfe (1972). Fondly remembered by his sister Wendy and her husband, John Prince of The Villages, Florida and by his nieces Erica Prince and her husband Shane Jezowski of Brooklyn, N.Y., Kimberley Prince of Toronto and Caroline Prince of Ottawa. Predeceased by his aunt, Helen Elliott (1998) and his step father, Doug Elliott (2008). Rick grew up in Amherstburg, Ontario and received his Marine Engineering degree from the State University of New York, Maritime College, The Bronx, New York in 1973. He was a lifelong vintage sports car enthusiast and will be remembered for his innovative and technical skills. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Avenue, Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Sunday, May 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Rick’s life will take place at the funeral home on Monday, May 27, at 11:00 am. Private interment will take place in the family plot at Rosehill Cemetery, Amherstburg.
