Rheta Marlene Langford Sage , known to friends and family as Marlene, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2023, at Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll. Born on April 5, 1944, in London, Marlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

Marlene was predeceased by her first husband, George Langford, in 1976. She later found love again and married her devoted husband, Mike Sage, with whom she shared 38 cherished years. Marlene was a proud and caring mother to Scott (Janette) Langford and Anne (Jeff) Noble. She was an adoring grandmother to Andrea (Nathan), Alecia (Alec), Emma, and Travis (Jessica), and a doting great-grandmother to Anson, Felix, and the late Audrey (2019). Marlene is also survived by her sister, Cathy (Aubrey) Thornton, sister-in-law Dorothy Langford, and brother-in-law Carl Langford.

A woman of many interests, Marlene had a particular love for Scottish Terriers and was an active member of the Canadian Scottish Terrier Club. She could often be found in the company of her beloved dogs, who brought her great joy and companionship throughout her life. Marlene was also a talented baker, delighting friends and neighbours with her delicious gingerbread cookies, which she lovingly handed out each Halloween. Her creativity extended to knitting, where her skilled hands crafted warm and beautiful garments for loved ones.

Marlene was an adventurous spirit, embracing life with an open heart and a zest for new experiences. She discovered a passion for motorcycles, and her optimism and enthusiasm inspired those around her to embrace their own adventures. A quote by Helen Keller comes to mind when thinking of Marlene's outlook on life: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all."

Marlene's unwavering optimism and creativity touched the lives of all who knew her. She brought warmth, laughter, and love to every gathering and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, a testament to her vibrant spirit and the impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.
