Ralph George Wells

WELLS, Ralph George February 17, 1933 - February 2, 2009 Passed away suddenly at his home in Woodstock on Monday, February 2, 2009 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Nancekivell) and loved father of Judy Wells (Dave McIntosh) of Elmira, Brian Wells of Toronto and Christi Osborne (John) of Innerkip. Treasured grandfather of Melissa and Joshua Roi, Stephanie and Alexander Osborne and Katie McIntosh. Survived by one brother, Ron (Louise) of Calgary, in-laws Ross Livingston (Pat) and Barb Nancekivell and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Ida Wells and two sisters, Mary Eddy (Art) and Lenore Livingston. Ralph had a lifelong love of trucking and began this 50-year career as a young boy driving the milk truck at the family operated Innerkip cheese factory. Ralph was an avid golfer and curler and was actively involved with St. David's United Church. Ralph could often be found at his grandchildren's sporting events and dance recitals where he was their #1 fan. He also enjoyed being a volunteer driver with the Canadian Cancer Society. Busier in retirement than before, Ralph will be sadly missed by all the lives he touched. Visitation will be held at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Thursday, February 5, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Friends may also visit with the family one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at St. David's United Church, 190 Springbank Ave., Woodstock, on Friday, February 6, 2009 at 2:30 pm. Cremation to follow. Interment later in the Innerkip Cemetery. Donations to St. David's United Church or the V.O.N. Sakura House would be appreciated.
