Peter Henry Vink

VINK- Suddenly at the Woodstock General Hospital on Monday November 24th 2008 at the age of 64, Peter Henry Vink of RR # 4 Woodstock. Beloved husband and best friend of Bernice Vink (nee Ludwig) for 42 years. Proud and loving father of Brad (Becky) of Woodstock, Jason (Carolyn) of Port Sydney and Kevin (Chantelle) of Woodstock. Adored "Papa" of Olivia, Jared, Quinton, Brendan and Kade. Devoted master of "Mindy" for 18 years. Peter was born in Holland to William (1979) and Emma (1994) Vink, and came to Canada at four years of age, settling eventually near Woodstock in 1960. He will be sadly missed by brothers Jack (Lisa) and Bill (Corrie) of Innerkip and Frank (Helen) of Woodstock as well as sisters Mary (Bill) VanLoon of Finch, Irene Morris of Woodstock and Rosemary (Herman) Terpstra of Listowel. He was predeceased by his brother Herb (1989) and sister Agnes (1996). Peter was the owner of his own real estate company in Woodstock during the 1970's and was proud to have had one of the biggest firms back then. He served several terms as President of the Woodstock-Ingersoll Real Estate Board and on Committees for the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce. He was an entrepreneur who could envision a need and worked tirelessly to accomplish his goals. His success was due to his hard work and determination. In retirement he enjoyed the time spent in Florida, Texas, Arizona or wherever the sun was warm. Summers were spent puttering outside and entertaining the grandchildren. "Our loss is our sorrow". Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Thursday November 27, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev.
