TAPLAY, Percy - It is with heavy hearts, that our family announces the peaceful passing of our hero, Percy Edward Arthur Taplay at the age of 66, on Saturday, April 19th, 2014. Beloved husband of 44 years to Audrey Taplay (nee Rush). Cherished father of Cheryl and husband Chris Latford, Brent and wife Leah Taplay and Rob Taplay. Loving grandfather of Vanessa, Hilary, Owen, Tyler, Addison and Crosby. Dear brother of Bill (Wendy) Taplay and Shirley (Leroy) Avey. Also survived by his in-laws Ruth (Stan) Ficht, Donna (Bob) Rigby and Lori (Jeff) Croft. Percy owned and operated Taplay Plumbing & Heating for 14 years and was a dedicated employee of General Motors for 30 years. Percy was a long standing member of the Church of the Nazarene. As an active servant of God, he was also involved in other church communities. He will always be remembered as a humble and hard-working man, for his great love of nature, the value of friendship and his passion for his family. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday April 23, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel Thursday at 2pm. Interment later in the Burgessville Baptist Cemetery. Percy had a dream to provide fresh, clean water to communities in underdeveloped countries. Since his life was taken too soon, to fulfill his dream, if desired, contributions to the ERDO (Emergency Relief Development Overseas) for water projects would be sincerely appreciated.
