YOUNG - Suddenly at Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, Paul Richard Young of Woodstock in his 61st year. Beloved husband of Cheryl Lewington. Dear father of Nicole Kilbride (Kerry) of Collingwood and Stephanie Hastings (James) of Saltillo, Mexico. Loved grandfather of Calvin and Liam Hastings, and Kian, Charlotte, and Cormac Kilbride. Dear brother of Lawrie Young (Myrna), Terry Young (Mary), Brian Young (Linda), and David Young (Jennifer). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Elizabeth Young, sister Barbara Young and brother Stephen Young. Paul recently retired from Via Rail Canada Inc. after more than 30 years of service. Paul served with the Canadian Navy and was a Sea Cadet Officer here in Woodstock in the 1980's. He was also an avid gardener and hockey player with the Woodstock Oldtimers Hockey League and enjoyed playing golf as much as possible. Paul and Cheryl also enjoyed travelling together to many warm climates. Paul's grandchildren were very important to him and he loved them dearly. Friends will be received at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 1:30 pm. Interment later in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Collingwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
