ARCHER-(Howes) Olive Isabel,

At Woodstock Hospital on January 15th 2021

It is with sadness the family of Isabel Archer announces her passing on January 15, 2021 at Woodstock Hospital.  A former resident of Caressant Care Retirement Home and previously of Brant St. in Woodstock for over 50 years, she is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Frederick Richard Archer (1997)

Proud mother of Lynn Johnson (Lawrence) Vulcan Alberta, Marie Weigel Salford, Elaine Gauld (Oliver) Tillsonburg, and Beth Leslie (Mark) Woodstock.

Loving grandmother to Valerie Gale (Rob), Daryl Johnson, Penny Zabrowsky (Tracy), Lyle Johnson, Philip Weigel, Karen Oviatt (Sky), Richard Singer (Christine), Marcie Benjamin (Kyle), Matthew Leslie (Gabriella) and great-grandmother to nine.

Isabel was the third child of eight to Nathan M Howes & Olive (Moffatt) born in Toronto and then moved to Norwich then Woodstock at age of eight.

Dear brother to Mark Howes (Ellen) of Clinton and sister-in-law Shirley Howes of Whitby, predeceased by sisters Lois Jones, Genny Steward, Reta Duke, Barb Denby and brothers Syd Howes & Roger Howes and son in law Robert Weigel.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Isabel was a home maker, ran a boarding house, was a seamstress for her four daughters and did sewing for many others for 60 plus years.

Isabel was a faithful Church member, in the past she enjoyed Prayer Meetings, Agape Seniors gatherings, Mission Circle, helped make and roll Bandages for missionaries at Ladies Work Gatherings, crocheted Doilies for Bridal Showers, and knit Baby Outfits for the Baby Showers, crocheted plastic-bag strips into Bed-Mats for overseas children, knit sweaters for overseas children, and knit bonnets for premature babies at Woodstock Hospital.  Volunteer Alzheimer’s visitor, telehealth, and driver for Cancer clinic. She was always thinking of others.  A Celebration of life in memory of Isabel will be held at a later date.   If desired, memorial donations in lieu of flowers to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock (519-539-0004).  Personal condolences may be sent and viewed at www.brockandvisser.com
