Noreen Anne (Tyrrell) Wilkey

Wilkey - at her residence on Sunday April 27, 2003. Noreen Anne Wilkey (nee Tyrrell) of Victoria St. N., Woodstock, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Dr. William D. Wilkey. Dear mother of Cynthia Wilkey of Toronto, John and his wife Christine of Revelstoke and Jennifer Wilkey of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of Patrick, Deirdre and Gillian Pullin and Curtis and Byron Wilkey. Dear sister of Chickie Mair and her husband Dick of Plattsville. Predeceased by her son William Patrick (1963). Before starting a family, Noreen trained as a nurse at the Ontario Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital in London, Ontario and practiced as an R.N. in London, Vancouver, Whitehorse and Montreal. Noreen was a former president of the women's sections of the Woodstock Curling Club and Craigowan Golf and Country Club and past Regent of the Wingate's Raiders I.O.D.E, Woodstock. Noreen was an avid world traveler who shared that passion with her husband, children and grandchildren. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519 539-0004) on Thursday 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Kent Garrett officiated. Interment to follow in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions to the Woodstock General Hospital Foundation or the Women's Emergency Centre would be appreciated.
