BIGNEY - At his residence on Saturday October 25, 2003. Nathan L. Bigney of Melbourne Ave., Woodstock in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Bertha H. Bigney (nee Morrison). Dear father of Shirley (Keith) Arnold of Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Ronald (Bernice) Bigney of Lyons Brook Nova Scotia, Lavonia Bigney of Pictou Nova Scotia, Mary (Tom)Tved of Nevada U.S.A., Gail (Dewayne) Innis of West Branch Nova Scotia, Brenda (Walter) Jollimore, Leonard (Shelly) Bigney and Cynthia (Ken) Langille all of River John Nova Scotia, Jo-Anne Bigney and friend Charlie and Sherri Bigney all of New Glasgow Nova Scotia and Darlene (Keith) Boone of Windsor Nova Scotia. Loved grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also mourning is Trapper John. Predeceased by his parents Chalmers and Aletha Bigney, his uncle Russell Bigney and his sisters Jean and Mary and brother Lloyd, whom all died in their infancy. Nathan served in WW II with the Nova Scotia Highland Regiment before transferring to the Royal Canadian Navy and serving with the Merchant Navy. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellow Lodge #34 River John, Nova Scotia. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Tuesday 7-9 pm where the complete funeral service will be held in the chapel Wednesday at 1:30pm with Pastor Michael Liew and Elwood Morrison officiating. Interment later in the Mountain Road Cemetery, Nova Scotia. Contributions to the Alzheimer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Woodstock General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
