Nancy Irene Newport

NEWPORT, Nancy I. – Passed away at her residence on Friday August 20, 2021. Nancy Irene Newport of Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock and formerly of Foldens in her 73rd year. Beloved daughter of Amy and the late William (2002) Newport. Dear sister of Gale (late Ken) Johnson, Dale (Bruce) Leake, Billie Newport (Roger Wilson) and Cathy (Bill) Keith. Nancy will always be remembered by her eight nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her nephew Bill. Nancy was a lover of horses. She was a long-time member of Standardbred Racing Canada. A celebration of Nancy’s life will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Interment later in the Oakland Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to Woodingford Lodge Auxiliary or a charity of your choice that would reflect Nancy’s love for horses. The Early Years:

I was born in Woodstock in 1949. I have 4 sisters.

Love, Marriage, Family:

For Love - get a good dog

Marriage - buy a few horses and you'll have lots to clean up

Family - keeps you so busy

Work & Career:

I did nursing for 9 years (went to William Oslar). Then worked with my dad for years. We sold furnaces all over North America.

Significant Events:

I enjoy my birthday!

Christmas was always special growing up. There were lots of kids around.

Passions & Pastimes :

32 stall barn and loved spending time out there.

I enjoy horse books and magazines.
