Muriel F. (Doerr) Couch

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Muriel (Doerr) Couch in her 96th year on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Born to Joseph and Mary Doerr in Laird, Saskatchewan on April 5, 1929. She was the youngest of 7 siblings.

Survived by daughter Linda (David) Feick and sons Jim and Brian (Tammy)

Also survived by Sister-in-law Doreen Couch, daughters-in-law Linda Couch, Velda Couch, son-in-law Paul Decoopman, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 12 Great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by son, Randy and Pat, son Kevin, daughter Cheryl Decoopman, stepsons Ken, Ron and Cecil Couch and greatgrandchildren Brayden Berton and Nova Leigh Goulden.

Our mother was an avid baker, knitter, crocheter and sewer her whole life. Many hours were spent remaking or mending items for family and friends.

In later years she learned how to quilt, piecing many beautiful items. Her greatest accomplishment was making quilts for all 9 of her children and all 15 grandchildren which are greatly treasured to this day. Unfortunately, due to macular degeneration, she was unable to continue the legacy for her great and great great grandchildren.

In keeping with Our Mother’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral or visitation.

A graveside service with Pastor Richard Holm for family and friends will take place at Oxford Memorial Park on Saturday, August 10th, at 1:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Unifor Hall Local 636 (126 Beale St., Woodstock) on Sunday, August 25th, from 1 to 4 pm.

Arrangements entrusted to Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave. 519-539-0004).

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethany Lutheran Church, Heart and Stroke or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
