HINES, Michael Lanson - At the Bruyere Continuing Care Hospital, Ottawa on Friday December 24, 2010 in his 61st year. Beloved husband of Elisabeth L. (nee Meyerink) Hines for over 37 years. Dear father of Christopher (Dorothy) Hines of Osgoode, Joshua (Stefanie) Hines of Calgary, Amanda (Matt) Dumouchel of London, Noel Hines (Mike Ray) of Vancouver and Andrew Hines of London. Loved grandfather of Sophie, Amelia, Julia, Simon, Ethan and Baby Dumouchel. Dear son of Marion Hines (nee Eckhardt) of Long Point and son-in-law of Ben and Bertha Meyerink of Tillsonburg. He will be sadly missed by his sister Susanne Wilson (Rick) of RR# 4, Ingersoll, by his sisters-in-law Adriana Lawless (Don) of Mississauga, Gerda Hammond (Jim) of Carnavon, Angela Grundy (Kevin) of Tillsonburg and by his brother-in-law Bernie Meyerink (Janet) of London. Also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Clifford J. Hines. Michael was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Woodstock and Haliburton for many years. He will always be remembered by the countless students he taught at I.D.C.I., C.A.S.S. and finally St. Mary's High School, Woodstock over his 35 year career. Friends will be received by the family at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday December 28, 2010 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 904 Dundas St., Woodstock, on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. As a lasting memorial, a tree may be donated in Michael's memory to the St. Mary's High School Naturalized Area and may be arranged through the funeral home or contributions to the Environmental Defence, Toxic Nation Studies or Prevent Cancer Now would be appreciated.
