SCHREITER, Meredith (nee McCrea) - Meredith passed away on Sunday July 2, 2017 at the age of 39 at Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock. Meredith fought breast cancer with strength and determination for 6 years. She won many battles but lost the war. Meredith was born and raised in Kitchener, attending Forest Heights Collegiate, Conestoga College and the University of Waterloo. Meredith worked at the Children's Aid Society of Oxford County in Woodstock. Her compassion, understanding, sense of humour and advocacy for the children she served were appreciated by staff and clients alike. Meredith is survived by her husband Kurt Schreiter, the love of her life. She also leaves her pride and joys, sons Jack and Sam. She was the best mommy ever to "her boyzos". Also left to mourn Meredith's passing are her parents, Wayne and Linda McCrea of Kitchener, her brother Warren (Amanda) and their sons Wesley and William of Indianapolis. Meredith will also be missed by her mother and father-in-law, Reinhart and Georgina Schreiter, her sister-in-law Krista (Devan) and their children Liam, Charlotte, Matthew and Kate. Meredith also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. Meredith was a "people person" having many friends. Throughout her illness, friends, colleagues, neighbours and family rallied to provide support, understanding and especially love. There are too many "angels" to mention. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place Friday July 7, 2017 3:00pm at Innerkip Presbyterian Church, 64 Blandford Street, Innerkip, Ontario. As per Meredith's request aka demand is for everyone to wear colourful semi-casual wear to the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Sakura House Hospice or "The Jack And Sam Schreiter Trust" and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004).
