With family by his side, Murray passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Caressant Care, Woodstock in his 91st year. Murray joins his beloved wife, Hendrika “Rika” (nee Slump) who predeceased him in 2012 after 56 years of marriage. Dear father of John and his wife Betty of Burford, Alice Veldjesgraaf and her husband Allan of Norwich, Harry and his wife Marion of Brantford, Teresa Dykxhoorn and her husband Harold of Brownsville and Paul and his wife Neva of Wisconsin. Proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Murray is also survived by 1 brother and 2 sisters. Predeceased by his daughter Nancy Dyk (1994), granddaughter Stephanie Veldjesgraaf (1982), grandson Jesse Dyk (2017) and grandson Calvin Dyk (2019). Murray and Hendrika together owned and operated their dairy farm in Brant County for many years before retiring in 2006. He was resident of Langdon Retirement Home and a longtime member of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock on Saturday, December 7 from 2-4 and 7-9pm, and on Monday December 9 at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 735 Frontenac Cres., Woodstock from 10am until 10:45am. Funeral Service will follow at 11am. Spring interment at Hillview Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations would be welcomed to the Canadian Cancer Society.
