ARMSTRONG - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Tuesday November 9, 2004. Melvin ‘Mel' C. Armstrong of Woodstock in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Reta (nee Barratt) Armstrong. Dear father of Ann Lapier and her husband Jerry, Martin and his wife Brenda and Dan and his wife Robin all of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of Jason Lapier and his wife Ellissa of Guelph, Melanie Lapier of Fort McMurray Alberta, Kristyn and Adam Armstrong and Brianne, Alyssa and Kayla Armstrong all of Woodstock. Dear brother of Violet Jones of St. Thomas, Helen Nadalin and her husband Kenneth of Beachville and Harold Armstrong and his wife Dorothy of Woodstock. Also remembered by his brother in law Dan Barratt of Brampton, sisters in law Marion Knott and Elizabeth Barratt both of Ingersoll and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his sister Margaret Moggach, sister in law Edna Dennis and brother in law Verne. Mel was a lifelong resident of Beachville and served overseas during World War 2. He was a member of both the Beachville United Church and Beachville Legion as well as a retired employee of Standard Tube. Friends may call at the R. D. Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Avenue Woodstock (539-0004) on Thursday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 am with Rev.
