M. Bernice Raper

October 1, 1931 — September 7, 2020

RAPER, Marion Bernice (nee Hawkins) -  M. Bernice Raper passed away peacefully at the Woodstock Hospital on Monday, September 7, 2020. Formerly of RR#6 Woodstock in her 89th year.  Beloved wife of the late A. LeRoy Raper for almost 61 years. Dear mother to Leonard “Len” Raper (2020), Ruth Ann (Keith) Innes, Steven (Kim) Raper, and Derrick (Valerie) Raper. Loved and cherished grandmother to 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother-in-law Ronald Beachum and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Violet (Martin) and Ernest Hawkins and in-laws Greta (Halllock) and Arthur Raper, sisters Doris (Walter) Groves, Helen (Harry) Waugh, Eileen (Ken) Whitehead, Lenore (Allan) Waugh, and Vera Beachum, her brother Bruce (Donna) Hawkins, and sister-in-law Beatrice (nee Raper) (Howard) Haley. Bernice and Leroy vacationed for many years in Florida. She enjoyed Pepper and Rumoli with her friends and teaching the “girls” swimming exercised in the Chieftain #6 Pool. Cremation has taken place and a private time of remembrance was held for family.
