SMITH, Maxwell "Mac" L. - Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Wednesday November 8, 2017 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Marjory Jean (nee McCreight) Smith for over 67 years. Dear father of the late Maurice (Joyce) Smith, Joanne (Dan) Phillips, Allan Smith and Bruce (Pam) Smith. Cherished grandfather of Sara (Alex), Rob (Nicole), Gary, Becky (John), Tracey (Chuck), Ian, Matthew (Kristen), Derek (Sam), Kyle (Charlotte), Jared and survived by several great grandchildren. Dear brother to Ivan Smith, Wonetta Taylor, Wendall Smith, Phyllis (Larry) Street, Winston (Donna Mae), Allison (Jean) Smith and brother-in-law to Meryl Smith, Jana Smith, Sharon Smith, Roberta Smith, Irma Smith, Jean McCreight and Bill Ropp. Predeceased by his siblings; Nellie Mae (John) Grudzinski, Gwendolyne Smith, Eleanor (Len Currah) Hern, Bryant (Joyce) Smith, William Smith, Elwood Smith, Robert Smith, Wayne Smith, Darryl Smith, David Smith and by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Betty Smith, Stanley Taylor, Laurel Smith, Jack McCreight, Bob McCreight and Lynne Ropp. Mac was a devoted and dedicated cheese maker for many years. He was also a past member of the Plattsville No. 178 Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. A memorial visitation will take place at Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Friday November 10, 2017 from 2:30 - 4:30 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service to honour Mac will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 3:30 pm. Cremation has taken place. Interment later in Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
