Mary Isabelle (Sutherland) Skinner

Mary Isabelle Skinner:
Born October 30, 1928 to the late William and Velma Sutherland. Dear sister of the late William
Lefler Sutherland. Beloved wife of the late George Hart Skinner.
Passed away peacefully at Tri-Town Extendicare, Haileybury on Saturday July 20th, in her 91st
year. Cherished mother of Ian (Susan) Skinner, Alan (Karen) Skinner and Peggy (Malcolm)
Alexander. Dear grandmother to Jordan (Erin), Andrew (Emily), Jason (Nicola) Meaghan
(Matthew) Josh, Peter, Joseph, Colin and Jessica. Proud great-grandmother to Evelyn, George
and Grayson. Mom was born and raised in Woodstock, Ontario and graduated from the Toronto
General School of Nursing. She nursed in Detroit, Toronto and finished her career at the Royal
Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa.
Mom enjoyed travel, quilting, painting, her dogs and most of all her growing family. She will
always be remembered.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to her caregivers at Tri-Town Extendicare who were
such an important part of our family in mom’s last years. Your kindness was of great comfort to
our family.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family on Tuesday, August 20th from 12:30 pm to
1:30 pm at the BROCK AND VISSER FUNERAL HOME, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock
(519-539-0004). The memorial service will take place in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 pm. If
desired, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the Residents’ Fund at Tri-Town
Extendicare, Haileybury.
