Mary (Meijer) Hendriksen

September 14, 1930 — January 12, 2023

HENDRIKSEN, Mary Antonia Gesina - Surrounded by so much love at the Dearness Home in London, Maria “Mary” Antonia Gesina Hendriksen (née Meijer), formerly of Thamesford, at the age of 92 passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12th, 2023.  Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank (2000) and sons John (1961) and Peter (1963).  Loving and caring mother to Anne Brooymans (Rene), Theo Hendriksen (Julie), Gerry Hendriksen (Jill), Susan Rimmelzwaan (Jim), Linda Hood (Dave), and Connie Fletcher (Corey).

Beloved Oma to MaryAnne Van de Gevel (Joe), Christine Vermeer (Ben), Amanda Posthumus (Landon), Ryan Brooymans, Michelle Kemp (Chad), Ashley Hendriksen (Matt), Allison Hendriksen, Jacob Hendriksen, Jeremy Hendriksen, Steven Rimmelzwaan (Katie), Matt Rimmelzwaan (Esther), Mark Rimmelzwaan, Justin Rimmelzwaan, Emily Nangle (Craig), Nathan Hood, Brianna Hood, Jessica Ferguson (Connor), Tyler Fletcher (Janice) and Laura Fletcher (Dave).

Beloved Great Oma to William, Carson, Lauren, Ethan, Cameron, Kenzie, Susie, Gerritt, Addison, Keegan, Case, Aubrey, Maverick, Naomi, Riley, Elina, Blake, Taya and Fallon.

She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Mary (Ben Hendriksen-2016) and many nieces and nephews.  Survived by her sister Leny Buiting (Jan), brother Theet, sister-in-law Miep, brother-in-law Joop, and many nieces and nephews in the Netherlands.  Predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law Ray (2013) and Mary (2019) Hendriksen.

Mary had a deep faith and it was seen through her dedication to the Sacred Heart Parish as a long-time member with the CWL.  She enjoyed her sewing group for the mission and her ladies day card club.  She loved her vegetable and flower gardens and also loved to bake and cook. Anyone that visited knew they wouldn’t go home empty-handed.  She loved to give.  Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren who also adored her.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for visitation on Sunday, January 15th, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 177 Dundas St. W., Thamesford. The funeral mass will be held the following day, January 16th, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 131 Thames Street North, Ingersoll.

In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Dearness Home Gift Fund would be appreciated.

The family is extremely thankful for the dedicated staff and kindness she received while at the Dearness Home.
