Mary "Bernice" Eleanor Downey

DOWNEY, Bernice - Passed away peacefully at People Care, Tavistock on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Mary Eleanor "Bernice" (nee Dougherty) Downey formerly of Woodstock in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon S. Downey (2010). Dear mother of Barb (John) Dennis, Gaile (Marino) Pippo, Leslie (Dan) McFadden, Joanne (Bob) Shelton and Gordon (Judy) Downey. Loved grandmother of Darcie (Geoff), Aaron (Aoife), Blair, Matt (Kate), Chris (Christina), Danielle, Amber, Ryan, Caley (Rob), Bryce, Angela, Laura and great grandmother to Mackenzie, Jared, Eoghan, Madeline and Maeve. Dear sister of Velma Bigington. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son-in-law Norm Dennis and by her sisters; Helen Miller and Doris Jones. Bernice studied business and graduated at the top of her class. She won many academic awards and used this acute business knowledge during 37 years in the stock market. A celebration of Bernice's life will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
