MALHIOT, Marion Alberta It is with sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Marion Malhiot at Sakura House Woodstock on August 1, 2015 in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Bill (2005). Mother of Marie and husband Dick Schram, Denise and husband Pat Burns, Michael and wife Lori, and Kathy (predeceased in 1992). Dearly missed by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Born in Innerkip, she lived locally her entire life. She started work helping on her family farm while her brother was off at war and worked at several businesses before retiring from Canada Cement Lafarge. Marion was blessed with good health for 90 years and enjoyed looking after her large property until very recently. All who came in her home knew her love for reading, doing puzzles and watching mystery shows. She had a tremendous love and respect for nature and conservation and obtained great pleasure and peace from gardening, bird-feeding and in her earlier years, camping and raising dogs. A loving mother and wife, she will always be remembered for her inner strength, joy from simple things, eternal optimism, sense of humour and the happy joyful company she gave to others. A wonderful companion and cook, her greatest joy in life was spending time with family. The family would like to extend their thanks to her caregivers and her wonderful neighbours who made it possible for her to stay in her beloved home until her final few days, and the staff at Sakura House. Join us to celebrate Marion's life at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Thursday August 6, 2015 with a visitation from 11am - 12pm and a reception to follow.
