Maria "Regina" Pedrosa

Maria Regina Da Costa Pereira Pedrosa was born in Lavos, Portugal on May 28, 1924.  Regina passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Woodstock Hospital at the age of 99 years.  Predeceased by her beloved husband Jose Pedrosa in 2007, and her parents, Antonio Aleixo and Maria Da Conceicao Da Costa Pereira.

Loving mother of Antonio (Tony) Pedrosa and his late wife Darlene, Carlos (Jorge) Pedrosa and Joaquim (Jake) Pedrosa and his wife Susan.  Proud grandmother of Samantha, Jason, Zaaron, Jacob (Darlene) and Tyler (Sarah).  Great Grandmother to Madison (Matthew), Graham, Blythe, Taylor, Braden, Jayce, Levi, and Jordyn.

Regina immigrated to Canada in 1959 with her three sons, joining Jose who had been here for two years preparing the way.  She was a loving, gentle, loyal, hardworking wife and mother, homemaker, farm hand, assembly line worker, and seamstress who took great pleasure in making her families clothes in her early years.  Her cooking was enjoyed by both family and friends.  Her rice pudding was everyone’s favourite.  She greatly enjoyed being surrounded by family.  The last 15 years of her working life was as a loyal employee of Electrohome in Kitchener.  In 1982 at 58 years of age she retired with Jose, returned to a newly built house on the family property in Portugal and enjoyed the next 15 years of retirement in her homeland until Jose was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.  After Jose passed away in 2007, Regina returned to Canada to be close to family.

Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11 o’clock in the chapel at the Brock & Visser Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.
