Marian Viola (Bell) Thompson

THOMPSON - After a brave and courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side at the VON Sakura House. Marian V. Thompson (nee Bell) went to be with her Lord on Monday June 7, 2010. Cherished wife and best friend of Bill Thompson for almost 53 years. Beloved mother of Cheryl (David) West, Don (Leslie) Thompson, and Diana (Mark Dziadra) DeRaad. Dear grandmother of Terri (Colin) McCallion, Matthew Thompson, Adam Thompson, Tiffany (Jeremy) Grubb, Jessica DeRaad, Zachary Thompson, Hilary West, Brittany DeRaad, Abby Thompson and Eric Thompson, and loving great grandmother of Ryan McCallion. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents William and Illa (nee Drake) Bell, siblings W.J. Jack Bell, Roy (Beatrice) Bell, Cecil Bell, Margaret (Dennis) Child, as well as a niece and two nephews. Marian was a longtime member of College Avenue United Church, the College Avenue United Church Choir, a 35 year member of the Order Of Eastern Star Khaki Chapter #27, Daughters Of The Nile, as well as a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Friends may call the Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 2:30-4:30 pm and 7-9 pm. The service will be held at College Avenue United Church 22 Wilson St. on Thursday June 10, 2010 at 1:00pm. Interment in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
