McKINNEY, Margaret Louise, a.k.a. Marno, neé Baker, neé Waterhouse passed away from one of the rarest of afflictions, old age, in her 93rd year at Woodstock General Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, November 27th. Marno requested that it be said that she went kicking and screaming, which reflects her humor and straight-talking, honest, reflection of the world around her, and on life itself, right to the end. She graduated with her RN at The Toronto General Hospital. An avid painter, she is a former member of The Woodstock Art Gallery and The Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre. Born in Ingersoll, Ontario, on January 23rd 1920, Marno is predeceased by her husbands, Herbert Frederick Baker and Steadman McKinney and sister, Mary Smith. Marno was a devoted mother and will be deeply missed by her three children, Catherine Groulx, Lisbeth DiPasquale and David Baker, and her grandchildren, Shane, Douglas, Rebecca, Michael, Brittany, Coleson, Paul, Marian, Gail and Glenn, and great grandchildren Mackenzie, Ethan, Michael, Kristopher and Stephen, as well as her late partner in life, Bill Bright. The family would like to thank the staff at Oxford Gardens for their kind care during Marno's four years there and the nurses at Woodstock General Hospital who cared for her in her final few days. Marno's Memorial Service will be held at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Sunday, December 23rd with visitation at 10:30am and service at 11:00am.
