It is with heavy hearts we announce that Margaret passed away peacefully at Woodstock Hospital on February 9, 2023 at 94 years of age with family members present. Beloved wife of Ronald.  Loved mother of Sheila Ashford (Mark Kuper) and Jamie (Jennifer) Gregor; dear grandmother of Stephanie Ashford-Arsenault (Shawn), Spencer Ashford and Sawyer (Karlee) Ashford. Also will be remembered by sisters-in-law Helen, Marie and Ruth Poste and Marie Gregor.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Margaret is the last surviving member of her family being predeceased by her brothers, James (Betty), John (Muriel), Kenneth (Etta-Marie), Ronald (Amy), Beverly, Lawrence, David and sisters, Mary (Robert), Dorothy (Bill), Florence (Willis).

Public visitation will be held on Thursday February 16, 2023 from 2-5 pm, followed by a private family funeral on Friday February 17, 2023 at Brock and Visser Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock)  Burial at Princeton Cemetery.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Woodstock Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit. We are so grateful for your care and compassion.

Margaret was a graduate of Western University in London. Her love of children and playing the piano enabled her to be an amazing kindergarten and primary school teacher. Her teaching career spanned for 34 years.

Margaret was a longtime member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Woodstock and as such;

Rev. Dr. Kim  will be officiating the funeral service - A Celebration of Life.

Margaret loved her family, farm life, the cottage on Lake Erie, and winter months in Florida. She was an avid reader, artist (pottery, sketching and water colour paintings), and a staunch Liberal.

Margaret had an endearing smile that could warm your heart. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
