Margaret Evelyn (Mcewen) Smith

Smith, Margaret E. McEwen- Peacefully at Peoplecare, Tavistock on Thursday July 19th 2012. Margaret E. McEwen Smith of Woodstock in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late William W. Smith (1976). Predeceased by her sister Thelma Schultz (1998) and dear friend Erle Pow (1992). Margaret was a long-time member of the Church of the Epiphany. In 1944 she joined New St. Paul's choir and continued to be an active member for 60 years and was also a member of the Woodstock Music Club. Margaret fondly recalled her 35 year career with CIBC, beginning as a clerk in the Saving Department, she became the first woman in the company to move up to the position of Assistant Accountant and one of the ten first women in Canada to achieve such a position with the CIBC. Margaret will be missed by her friends and the Pow Family. A Funeral Service will be held at the Church of the Epiphany 560 Dundas St, Woodstock on Wednesday July 25th 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment in Anglican Cemetery, Woodstock.
