Margaret Anne (Townsend) Chesney

CHESNEY- Peacefully, at the Stratford General Hospital on Monday, August 2nd, 2010. Margaret Anne Chesney (nee Townsend) in her 80th year. Beloved wife for 54 years to M. Reid Chesney. Loving mother of Dave (Lori), Don (Darlene), Matt, Reid R. and Gord (Lynn). Cherished grandmother of David (Kelli), Joshua (Michelle), Meghan, Brent, Brock, Dean, Joel, Brad (Liz), Greg and Jared and great grandmother of Emma and Isabelle. Survived by her sisters Annabelle (James) Grant and Elizabeth (Barry)Tate and by her sisters-in-law Dorothy Lim and Margaret Townsend and brother-in-law William (Nancy) Chesney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ross and Jessie Townsend and her brothers Harold, Ross (Marlene), Donald and brother- in-law C.C. Lim. At Margaret's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Friends and family are invited to a brief graveside service held on Saturday, August 7th, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Innerkip Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to the W.D.D.S or a charity of one's choice. These donations may be arranged through the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004). Margaret was a graduate of the University of Toronto, a secondary school teacher and a long time member of the Eastern Star. While raising a large family and farming for many years, she was able to enjoy activities such as reading, sewing, gardening, traveling, and going to her cottage.
