HARWOOD (Rush), Mabel Louisa - Mabel passed away peacefully at Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock on Monday August 27, 2012 after 91 happy healthy years. Mabel was the beloved wife of the late Roy Harwood (1994) and the very loved mother of Gillian Lavin and her husband Roland. She was the cherished Nan of Jason (his wife Jeannie, their children Devorah Leah, Tova Ariel, Avraham, Chaya Sarah) and Jordan (his wife Deanna, their children Morgan, Turner and Ella). Loved friend and companion of James Farquar. Loved sister of Dr. Alan Rush and his wife Jackie in England. Aunt of several nieces and nephews. Mabel, born in England on December 24, 1920, met and married her Canadian soldier there during the Second World War and came as a War Bride to Canada. She and Roy settled in Woodstock and Mabel quickly became known for her enthusiasm, energetic biking, love of dancing and constant cheerful nature. She was active in St. David's U.C.W. and several other community organizations, an avid gardener and was always happiest to be involved in the lives of her family members. Friends may attend a visitation at St. David's United Church, 190 Springbank Ave., Woodstock, on Thursday August 30, 2012 from 7 - 9 pm. A private family interment was held in Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.
