Luke Folkema

September 30, 1949 — December 19, 2020

FOLKEMA, Luke - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at his home on Saturday December 19th 2020.  Luke went to rejoice in Heaven with his most beloved wife of 44 years Margrid Folkema (nee Zondervan)(2017).  Cherished father of Heidi (William) Marsh, Angela (John) VanBergeijk, Melanie (Peter) van Brugge, Katrina (Joshua) Martens, Elissa (Jeff) Krul, Marten (Emma) Folkema. Adored grandfather to Aden, Mariska, Julia, Kaila, Ezra, Ava, Jameson, Jakob, Dylan, Adam, Hailey, Evelyn and Ellis. Dear brother of  Gary (Rhea) Folkema, Ruby (Elgin) Hartsell, Susy (Ron) Hettinga and brother-in-law of Gary (Joanna) Mulder, and is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his sisters Jane (Ed) Rusticus and Karen Mulder.  Luke was a true gentleman, who had a kind smile and words of wisdom to share with whomever asked.  He retired as a millwright in the limestone industry after 30 + years.  Friends are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Tuesday December 22nd 2020  from 5-8 pm.  All attendees must RSVP through the funeral home by phone or website.  A funeral service to honour Luke’s life will be held at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Woodstock on Wednesday December 23rd 2020 with Reverend Peter Burrill officiating. Interment to take place in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. –If desired, memorial contributions to  Emmanuel Reformed Church would be appreciated.   Personal condolences may be sent and shared at www.brockandvisser.com
