Luigi "Gino" Muzzin

Peacefully at Woodingford Lodge on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the age of 97 years.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Noemi (nee Mior) in 2019.

Proud father of Julie & Mike D’Emilio, Ed & Judy Muzzin and Al & Carolyn Muzzin.
Loving Nonno of Filippo & Jennifer, Paolo & Laurie-Anne, Nina & Drew, Carlo & Gillian, Tyler, Jacob & Courtney, Lisa, Julia & Trevor.
Faithful and devoted Nonno Nonno to his 12 great grandchildren - Massimo, Luca, Noemi, Jude, Maizie, Francesca, Luna, Keidis, Stevie, Willow, Rowe and Oakland.

Gino immigrated to Canada in the spring of 1951, working in construction in Toronto before settling near his uncle in Beachville.  He married Noemi, the love of his life, in 1952 and they raised their family in the Ingersoll/Beachville area.  Most of his working life was spent as a millwright for Gypsum Lime, Domtar and later Carmeuse.  Gino was a founding member of the Colombo Club of Oxford and worked hard to develop a local Italian Canadian community.  Always an active man, he walked 5K or more daily and in his younger days played soccer with the Domtar team.  He was a skilled gardener and woodworker and could fabricate anything, even building the family home himself.  Gino’s passion for winemaking was only second to his love for his family, which was everything to him.

Friends will be received on Saturday December 2 from 11-1pm at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave,, Woodstock.  A memorial service will be held at 1pm in the funeral home chapel.   Private prayers to be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Woodingford Lodge and the Canadian Cancer Society.
