PHELPS - Surrounded by the love of his family at L.H.S.C. (Victoria Campus) on Monday July 5, 2004. Louis "Lou" E. Phelps of R.R.# 1 Woodstock in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Betty Rose Phelps (nee Sibley). Dear father of Sherri Comer and her husband Ted of Brantford, Wendy Phelps and her partner Harry Pressey of Woodstock, Patricia Phelps of Tillsonburg, David and his wife Connie of Beachville. Loved grandfather of Rebecca, Nathan, Courtney and Jessica. Dear brother of Clara Yates, Betty Benson, George Phelps and his wife Barbara, William Phelps and his wife Jeanette. Predeceased by his brother Robert Phelps and his wife Joan and brothers-in-law Bill Yates and Allan Benson. Lou worked for the City of Woodstock Board of Works Department for over 46 years (the longest city employee in history), was an antique car collector and an avid snowmobiler. Friends may call at the R.D. Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock (539-0004) Tuesday 7-9 pm and Wednesday 2:30-4:30 & 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held in the chapel Thursday at 1:30 pm. Interment Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Annandale National Historic Site Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
