On Friday July 19th, in her 66th year, Lorie Ann Dunham (Zehr, Buchanan, nee Breakwell) of Woodstock passed away peacefully in Woodstock Hospital. Daughter of the late Allen and Margaret Breakwell, sister of Doug (Karen) Breakwell - Lorie was born in Woodstock and called it home for most of her life. Although her life took her to Milton, Mississauga and even further afoot to Iqaluit as well as Medicine Hat Alberta, Woodstock was always home. Cherished mother to Teresa Buchanan (Gregg Milne) of Milton ON. Treasured Nana to Andrew. Aunt to Buddy Breakwell, Amy Abril, Marty Buchanan and Laura Buchanan. Lorie will be immeasurably missed by many friends who were her dearest family. Deb McKay (Doug), Stacey Sim and family, Charlene Buchanan. She had a very special relationship with them. Family and friends were everything to Lorie. Lorie was the life of the fire pit party, and brought a laugh for everyone she met. She was a skilled artist, and many are blessed with her art to remember her by.
A special thanks to the palliative care team at Woodstock Hospital who treated her end of life care with compassion and empathy.
Honouring Lorie’s wishes, close family will be present for her internment. She requests her life be celebrated through small everyday acts of kindness or reflection.
