STEPHENS, Lois Maryalice (nee Taylor),  went to be with her Lord on the 24th day of August, 2022. Predeceased by her loving husband and best friend Reverend Dr. Gordon F. Stephens, her sister Grace and brothers Charles and Gerald.

Mother of Greg, Glenn and Gary. Nana to Jason, Tyler, Ken and Shawn.

Lois enjoyed a lifetime of service, along with her husband at four Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist churches, including Oxford Baptist in Woodstock, Willowdale Baptist and Rosedale Baptist in Toronto.  She was also actively involved for many years in the following organizations:  Chairperson / Leader of Pioneer Girls, Woodstock and Willowdale; Corporation member at Yonge St. Mission, Toronto; Chairperson and founding member of the Pastor’s Wives Conference Committee at Muskoka Baptist Conference, with committee involvement for 25 years; Board member of Seniors Committee of Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches, Guelph; and Board member of Youth for Christ, Woodstock.  Lois was also a singer and member of “His Own” for 14 years, an octette from Willowdale Baptist who ministered musically to many Ontario churches.  Graduate and Silver Medalist at Tyndale University (B.RE) and top graduate with her Gerontology degree at Ryerson (now Toronto Metropolitan University).  A proud member of the Canadian Society of Mayflower Descendants (Plymouth 1620), Lois was a talented artist (paint, pencil) and a popular speaker at women’s meetings, retreats, and seminars.  A friend, counsellor and confident to dozens if not hundreds, caring, kind and courteous to all, she will be greatly missed.
