Liza Ibanez Ayala Sering passed away on December 12, 2023, at the age of 81. Born on May 26, 1942, in Cauayan, Philippines. Liza was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Although she left this world unexpectedly, she was surrounded by her loving family.
Married to her beloved husband of 50 years, Cipriano Sering, Liza was a loving and caring partner. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Cathy (husband Jeff) and Melanie (husband Jason). She was later blessed with 2 grandchildren, Maia and Michael. Liza’s role as grandmother was one she cherished deeply, and her guidance and love will continue to light the way for her grandchildren.
Born to parents Sancho and Lilia Ayala, Liza was the eldest of thirteen children. She will be missed and remembered by her brothers and sisters, (Gilda), Rene, Tito, Norma, Bella, Belen, Perla, Roy, Nanette, Seven, Glenn, and Mary Jane.
Liza loved to garden, she found solace in the tranquility of her beautiful rose bushes. She loved a good book and liked to travel. Upon retirement, her and Cipriano embarked on countless trips to various countries where they experienced the world's beauty, bringing back stories and memories that she would share with much laughter and enthusiasm.
Those who knew Liza would describe her as loving, intelligent, generous and selfless. She had a profound impact on the lives of many, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her presence was a comfort, her advice a treasure, and her love a gift that will never be forgotten.
As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived. The family’s memories of their beloved “Mama” will be cherished forever in their hearts. We take comfort in knowing that her legacy will live on, not only in her family but in all those she inspired with her warmth and generosity.
Family and friends are invited to attend the public visitation on Friday, December 15, 2023 between 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Brock and Visser Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Devonshire Ave. Woodstock) Burial Will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery with a reception to follow.
