Linda Elizabeth Mcdowell

Linda Elizabeth McDowell, born December 29, 1947.

A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and tireless volunteer.

Linda McDowell passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024 in Woodstock, Ontario after a long and brave struggle with cancer. She was in her 77 th year. Linda was the loving daughter of the late James and Bernice McDowell of Woodstock, and the beloved sister of the late James McDowell (Sandra).

She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all of her nieces and nephews, the late Stephen McDowell, Suzanne McDowell, David (Sheryl) McDowell, Brian (Michelle) Kennedy, Brad (Patti) McDowell, her great nieces and nephews, Danielle (Robert), Jordan (Mariah), Ryan (Shelby), Adam, Jermey (Kyla), Greg, Ashley (Conner), Katie (Dylan), Shannon (Tate), Dawn, Kyle, North, Samuel, Lila, Nash, the extended Rocco/Hewitt family, Patty, Dakota (Maggie), Tyson (Emma), Mackenzie (James), and the Davies family, Charles (Cathie), Scott (Sandra), Dava (Shawn), Marlene. She is also remembered as a great-great aunt of 6.

Linda was a long time member of the Oxford United Church where she was a part of the choir. She was a dedicated volunteer for many causes including the Oxford United Church, and the Liberal Party at the Local, Provincial, and Federal level. She was awarded volunteer of the year for Canada by Prime Minister Jean Chrétien.

Most would remember her as a valued member of Dr. Thompson’s dental office where she worked for over 40 years.

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Climans and his caring Nurse Sharon at London Regional Cancer Centre, and Dr. Regis, Dr Fryer, and Dr. Sondhi, along with all the Nurse’s and Staff at Sakura House.

The family will be pleased to receive friends at Brock & Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock, Ontario, On Wednesday September 4, 2024 for Visitation between 11-1pm; Service at 1:00pm and Reception to follow.
