McNeil, Lillian Esther Peacefully at Memorial Hospital St. Marys, on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Lillian Esther (Harkes) McNeil of Thamesford in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband J. Bruce "Shorty" McNeil (1999), brothers William and George, brothers and sisters in law Pearl Harkes, Hector and Florence McNeil, Jessie and Buck Cruickshank, Lois and Clifford Taylor, Agnes Harkes and several nephews and a niece. Survived by her brother Jack Harkes and sister in law, Ardis Harkes and her very dear friend, Vincent Hodgins. Fondly remembered by many nephews and nieces, great and great-great nephews and nieces, as well as Al and Cheryl Lockhart and family. Lillian was a charter member, of the Rebekah Lodge until its closing, and Westminster United Church, Thamesford. She was an avid pianist and played many events over the years. She was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed attending local jamborees and never missed an opportunity to attend a euchre tournament. We are going to miss our family genealogist. Friends and family may call at the Harland B. Betzner Funeral Home, 177 Dundas Street, Thamesford on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm where Funeral Service will be Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 11am, with Reverend Mark Marshall officiating. Interment Zion 7th Line Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be given to Westminster United Church, Thamesford Firefighters or the charity of one`s choice.
