McDOWELL, Lillian (1911-2011) - The family of Mary Lillian Pearl (nee Smith) McDowell regrets to announce her passing on Wednesday February 2nd 2011 at Caressant Care Nursing Home, because they will miss her. Lillian was born March 26th 1911 in Rutherglen, near North Bay. She lived the first 70 years of her life in the North before moving to Woodstock to be near her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years George Clifford Lawrence McDowell (1979). Left to celebrate her full, creative life are her daughters, Barbara J. Brown and her husband Arnold of Waterloo and Karen I. Seguin of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of Kirby A. Brown and wife Dianne of Brantford, Pamela K. Brown of Hamilton, Mary Patrice Pletsch of Tavistock, Sean C. Seguin and his fiancée Tara Speers of Toronto and Aaron L. Seguin of Vancouver and cherished great grandmother of Jordan and Stephanie Brown of Brantford, Nico Canavo of Hamilton, Dakota , Cheyenne and Sierra Pletsch of Tavistock. She was predeceased by her grandsons, Brian Bruce Brown (1977), Brian Sydney Pletsch (2006) and her son-in-law R. Gary Seguin (2001). Last surviving sibling of eight, she lived her last 20 years in Woodstock at the Goff Towers and has spent the last 12 years (since 1999) at Caressant Care Retirement Home, Woodstock. A celebration of her life will be held at Dundas Street United Church, 285 Dundas St. Woodstock on Saturday March 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bonnie Pilkey officiating. Cremation has taken place.
