Seminara (nee Barchiesi), Liliana - Passed away peacefully at Woodstock Hospital with family by her side on March 2, 2021. Liliana’s story is all about love. One of five close sisters, she was raised by her beloved parents amidst the challenges of food shortages and bombings during WWII in Italy. At the age of 14, Liliana met her future husband, Immacolato, a dashing young marine in the Italian Navy. Their love story continued for 70 years till his death in 2017. After moving to Canada to marry Immacolato in 1953, Liliana focused on building a life centered on family. She went on to have three children and raised them in a home full of love that was happily shared with family, friends, and community through food, more food, vino, more vino, and lots of fun and laughter. Liliana’s love for her three children had no limits and was shown every day and in every way. This loving spirit continued with her three grandchildren who adored their Nonna. Liliana will be missed by her forever grateful and loving children Salvatore (Wendy), Concetta (Mike), David (Krista) and grandchildren Wesley, Laura, and Grace. Predeceased by sisters Pina and Quinta. Survived by sisters Elena, Graziella, sister-in-law Martina and brothers-in-law Wally and Gino. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 6th, 2021 at Holy Trinity Parish Church followed by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Woodstock.
