BERWICK- Lawrence (Lorne) Henry, Passed away peacefully on Sunday December 7, 2008 at Woodstock General Hospital in his 95th year. Predeceased by wife Myra (Willis) and wife Barbara (Keogh). Lawrence had a lifelong love of aviation which began with building his own glider as a teenager in Hamilton ON. After training pilots for the RCAF during WW 2 he received his Aeronautical Engineering degree and worked on the AVRO Arrow at Malton, ON. He had a long and satisfying career in aviation which took him to Kaman Helicopters in Connecticut, Garrett Manufacturing in Toronto and many projects with Lockheed, Boeing and other large aerospace firms. His was a youthful retirement of backyard BBQ's and travel to favourite places, especially the Canadian Rockies. He is missed and fondly remembered by son Dave and his wife Wenna Shaw, sister Lois King, special friend Ruth Davis and by all other family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Longworth Funeral Home 845 Devonshire Ave. Woodstock (519-539-0004) on Wednesday December 17th 2008 at 11:00am. Special thanks go to the doctors and nurses at Woodstock General Hospital and the nurses and staff at Caressant Care Nursing Home Woodstock for really taking such good care of Lawrence.
