Kenneth "Ken" Gordon Sherman

SHERMAN, Kenneth "Ken" G. - Passed away at the Woodstock Hospital on Saturday April 6, 2019 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Myrtle G. (nee Peckham) Sherman (2005). Dear father of Gary and his wife Sheila, Melanie Carter (Keith Moat), Denise Oliver and her husband Ken and Annette Bloomfield and her husband Robert. Loved grandfather of Marshall (Tracey), April (Terry), Megan, Jay, Sean (Dana), Robyn (Jeff), Janice (Kory), Craig, MacKenzie (Deanna), Dan and great grandfather of Mikaela, Emily, Mya, Travis, Owen, Danny, Ruairidh, Ben, Sam, Molly, Jemma, Brayden, Olivia, Tara, Madison, Reid, Alexis, Tyler, Ry and Keira. Dear brother-in-law of Helen Sherman. Predeceased by his son-in-law Ted Carter (1989) and by his siblings; George, Stanley, Bert, Orville, Lorne, Iva Dean, Eileen Wolfe, Gertrude Baxter and Dora Scott. Ken was the last surviving member of his own family. He was a long standing member of Christ Church Anglican Oxford Centre and was a veteran of WW II. Ken and his wife Myrtle were the first superintendents of Pittock Park. Many of the trees planted on both sides of Pittock Lake were the result of their hard work and dedicated vision. Their memory will live on in the life they loved. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, 519-539-0004 on Wednesday April 10, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, The funeral service will be held at Christ Church Anglican Oxford Centre on Thursday at 11:00 am with Reverend Derek Perry the officiant. Interment in the Christ Church Anglican Cemetery, Oxford Centre. If desired, memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
